We love eating at local diners while on vacation and this one did not disappoint! The ladies running the place were extremely friendly. The donuts, breakfast sandwiches and coffee were all fresh and delicious. It was a lot of fun speaking with local folks as well. Definitely worth the trip off of the interstate.
My girlfriend and I go here on a regular basis. It's such a wonderful place, great service, and terrific home cooked food. Very quiet and new food options every time you come in.

I'll preface this by saying I've only been for breakfast, though lunch is definitely something I'm interested in trying. The last time I was in this bakery, it wasn't even this bakery. I wasn't sold on Opals and when I saw the new, rebranded bakery I thought it was the same thing with a new coat of paint. That was wrong of me. This bakery kicks ass. They don't seem to do large quantity batches and everything is made from scratch. The donuts are the best in town and their biscuits and sausage gravy are truly something special. The portions are satisfying and the price you pay for them is completely reasonable. I'm afraid that people have done what I did and fell victim to one of the Classic Blunders, the most famous of which is "never get into a land war in Asia", but only slightly less well known is this: "not going to the Main Street Bakery and Cafe."
Wonderful people work there. They recognize you when you come more than once. They've got amazing homemade food for a good price.
