Very pretty Kentucky State Park campground. The people who work there are very nice and helpful. We enjoyed our stay for the night. I wanted to visit the fort but it is closed Tuesday through Thursday and we were there Tues.

I love this place. Great for camping, swimming, fishing and boating, including kayaks. It's very well kept all of them time and never too crowded. Lots of space as well for privacy. This place is great for a moment of summer fun. I highly recommend kayaking on the river.

I'm from Ohio and we go to state parks all the time, but Kentucky has the best state parks by far! Love this park and campground! We went during the Halloween fest and there were tons activities and events. Our campsite was 147 and it worked out perfect having the camper parked at the top, it made the lower level our own secluded site hidden in the back looking over the Kentucky river. There was a small hill but it was worth it! Highly recommend camping here!

There is some type of large outdoor processing plant close by which at times makes a lot of noise with big trucks. Pretty quiet overnight though.

A good place to visit with your family. There is a camping area by the river as well. The fort is a recreation of the original. Parking can be an issue when there is an event. You can find some unique items to buy, thus some interesting gifts. I bought an old style brass compass there, then I took it to an engraver, and gave it to my daughter when she graduated high school. We have been to it many times over the years. On a personal note, the cenotaph in front of the fort, with the names of original settlers, include a grandfather ancestor of mine, as well as his brothers. I only came to understand that not too many years ago. So you never know.

Took a day trip here. It's a nice park. The campgrounds looked nice. There is a pool on site. The fort is reconstructed on a new site, made to look like it did in the 1780's. It's very authentic. Admission is a little high, that is the reason for the 4 instead of a 5.
